Safe T Cert Accreditation
"At OBOR Construction, we are extremely proud to announce that our health & safety management system has been accredited by the CIF’s Safe T Cert which demonstrates our long term commitment to ensuring the safety of all our employees, and anyone else who may be affected by our acts and omissions.
The Safe-T-Cert was established in 2000 by the Irish Construction Industry Federation (CIF), and Northern Ireland Construction Employers Federation, with support from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). The scheme was set up to assure clients that certified contractors have an effective safety and health management system, as well as with the expectation that insurance companies may look favourably on contractors who have taken a pro-active approach to risk management as demonstrated through the achievement of Safe-T-Cert certification.
In addition to formal recognition within the construction industry in Ireland the Safe T Cert is:
· Recognised in the South & North of Ireland, and in the UK by the Health & Safety Executive;
· A process in collaborated on with the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH);
· Accepted by the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA);
· Based on International Labour Office guidelines on Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems (ILO-OSH2001);
· Included under the Competence of Contractor criteria in the HSA guidelines to the Construction Regulations 2006;
· Among other internationally recognised Standards included in the 2012 Olympic Delivery Authority's Health, Safety & Environment Standard;
The safety management system the company has adopted covers a wide variety of policies and procedures within the organisation, including a training needs analysis, inductions and toolbox talks, control of contractors, site rules and emergency procedures, PPE policy, complying with our statutory roles in the construction industry, equipment testing and certification, accident reporting, preparation of method statements and risk assessments and many more. The Health & Safety Management Policy applies to all employees and that of others who may be affected by our works.”
